No one may use the histology facilities at CMIR who has not received an orientation and training. Even individuals with extensive histology or experience outside of CMIR must receive an orientation and be assigned a username, password and user folder on the imaging system computers prior to beginning any microscopy work. Training is provided to individuals who have a specific need to perform their own histology and will be using the facilities on a regular basis. Researchers that foresee only occasional needs for histology should make use of Pathology Core services. Training is provided on an as needed basis. Individuals should make arrangements directly with the Director for orientation and training, and must fill out a training request form prior to training.
